New Line Drywall Inc. is a drywall and interior finishing company based in Castro Valley, California, working across the whole San Francisco Bay Area. Everything on this page is work we perform ourselves: framing, hanging, taping, texture and finish. That matters more than it sounds — when one company owns the whole sequence, there is nobody to blame for a seam that telegraphs, and nobody to wait for when a stage runs long.
Below are our four families of work. If you are not sure which finish level your project needs, that is the most common question we get, and it is exactly what the free estimate is for.
A drywall finish level is a specification, not an opinion. It says how many coats of compound go over the tape, how much of the board is skimmed, and how the surface behaves once the paint is on and the lights are switched on. Getting the level right is the difference between a wall that looks flat at noon and one that still looks flat at night.
The full skim coat. Every square inch carries the same thin layer of compound, so LED downlights and low afternoon sun have nothing to catch. This is what we install in the homes where the walls are part of the design.
Three coats over tape and fasteners, sanded flat. The standard for flat or matte paint in most residential work, and the right call when the budget matters more than raking light.
A uniform skim over old and new board alike, used to erase texture, patch history and shine bands from previous tape. The finish that makes a remodel read as new construction.
Taping, mudding, corner bead and sanding, done in the order and drying times the compound actually needs. Every level above is built on this stage.

Repairs are quick. Bad repairs are visible forever. We build a repair around the part most crews skip — reproducing the texture that is already on your wall, so the patch disappears under primer instead of announcing itself under the first coat of paint.
Cracked ceiling seams, doorknob holes, water damage, the patch a plumber left behind. We cut back to solid board, rebuild the substrate and blend the texture out far enough that the eye cannot find the edge.
Orange peel, knockdown, skip trowel, hand-troweled and Santa Fe finishes — sprayed or applied by hand, and matched to what your house already has.
Straight walls start behind the sheetrock. We self-perform the framing and the hanging, which means the crew that has to finish the wall is the same crew that set it plumb and square in the first place.
Hanging board on new construction, additions, ADUs and garage conversions — including fire-rated Type X and moisture-resistant board where code calls for it.
Light-gauge steel framing for interior partitions, demising walls, fire-rated assemblies, shafts, soffits, bulkheads and suspended ceilings, laid out to the drawings with the blocking your other trades will need.
The same crew, the same standard, whether the job is one room of a house in the hills or a tenant improvement that has to pass a walkthrough with the architect present.
Office buildouts, retail, restaurants and TI scopes: framing, drywall, taping and finish under one subcontractor, scheduled around the other trades.
Whole-home remodels, room additions, ADUs and garage conversions where the drywall scope runs from framing through final finish.
F reveals, Z reveals, base reveals and corner guards installed as part of the drywall scope, so layout, framing and finish are controlled by one crew instead of three.
